California-based lifestyle brand Splendid recently expanded, and chose Vancouver, BC for their first international store. Located in downtown Vancouver at the Pacific Centre, the Splendid store is full of stripes, vibrant colour, and cozy outfit essentials.
The beach-friendly brand was founded in 2002, and is one of the few brands that is still manufactured in the United States. They focus on clean and effortless basics, carrying maxi dresses, tunics, sweaters, tanks, t-shirts, and other closet staples. In addition to their one Canadian and nine American retail stores, Splendid can be found in department stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Barneys New York.
Comfort is a high priority for the company, earning Splendid a reputation for having incredibly comfortable basics. Their 50% supima cotton (an ultra-soft cotton) and 50% micro modal (a form of rayon) shirts are available in a variety of styles, and have quickly become a customer favourite.
Vancouver was chosen for their first Canadian store because of the similarities in lifestyle, demographics, and consumer needs to Los Angeles, where the brand started out. The Vancouver store carries men’s and women’s apparel, and additional product lines (children, babies, shoes, extended sizes etc.) can be purchased online.
