An interview with Annie Ford Danielson, live music, new Benefit products, talented makeup artists, and a free gift with purchase; what else could a girl ask for?
At the Pacific Centre Sephora/Benefit event last Friday, I had the honour of interviewing Annie Ford Danielson from Benefit Cosmetics. We chatted about Benefit’s 3 new products: Eye Wanna!, Eye Gotta!, and They’re Real!, which are sure to become beauty staples in makeup bags everywhere. I tried the new Benefit products, while I enjoyed live music from DJ Mary Mac, and got a few makeup pointers along the way.

Annie looked polished and classic with a sleek ponytail and a pop of orange lipstick. Before we started talking about the new products, I had to ask which favourite Benefit product has a permanent home in Annie’s purse. I wasn’t surprised when when she said Boi-ing, an industreal-strength concealer that does exactly what it promises. Thanks to Annie’s crazy schedule, Boi-ing has become an essential for her. I can relate, and was happy to report to Annie that it’s one of my favourite products and has definitely saved my tired eyes on more than one occasion.

They’re Real! Mascara features a two-in-one brush that emphasizes length and separation of the lashes. “We knew that when we did a new mascara, it had to be something massive,” Annie said, as she showed me the brush that can be used horizontally and vertically. 100 percent of women questioned said they saw long-lasting results, with smudge-proof wear for up to 9 hours. It curls and lengthens lashes, but the best part about it is that it can be used overtop of your volumizing mascara. After the interview, I had to try the new mascara myself.

A couple quick strokes, and my eyelashes actually touched the top of my eyelids. This is not something that I have experienced before, and let me tell you, it’s addictive. My eyelashes didn’t flake all day and at night when I took off my makeup, it came off easily. Use the mascara on its own for a natural look, of if you’re addicted to volume, combine with BADgal Lash Mascara for double trouble eyes.
