I’m back from Vancouver Eco Fashion Week and seeing green.
Season three of EFW was inspiring; I discovered some up-and-coming designers, met some incredible people, and found myself in awe after a number of different shows.
One of my favorite shows was the Nicole Bridger collection. Each year, I look forward to seeing her pieces, and this collection did not disappoint. Check out my article for Van City Buzz below and stay tuned for more collection breakdowns, trends, pictures, and style summaries.
Nicole Bridger – Eco Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012
Nicole Bridger has been a Vancouver Eco Fashion Week headliner and a favorite since the event started three years ago. I’ve watched her collections grow and develop over the years, and this year, not only did she deliver a beautiful collection, she put on a show-stopping performance. The show was a performance in the full sense of the word; a full-fledged runway event, complete with yoga and interpretative dance.
True to the Nicole Bridger style, the colour palette was neutral and full of dusty roses, soft apricots, and sky blues. The separates were yoga wear inspired, with ruching details and drapey cardigans.
As the show progressed, so did the performance. Models performed a graceful and fluid dance, which showed off the flexibility and movement of the fabrics.
The collection featured a number of form-flattering dresses made out of slinky jersey. Gentle draping, tie waists, and tulip shaped hemlines were used to add femininity and shape to each piece.
Looking good and doing good are simultaneous for Nicole Bridger; she uses sustainable fabrics, low impact dyes, local production, and ethical manufacturing practices. This is a clothing collection that will truly make you feel good inside and out.

I loved the concept of the fashion show. The clothes are wearable for sure. And I am definitely into the nude colors. Great story!
