Dressing for this time of year can be a challenge for Western Canada; in Vancouver, the mornings are cool, yet the afternoons are hot. There’s almost always a breeze coming in off the ocean, and downtown is usually much cooler than the rest of the city.
Whenever I’m feeling confused about to what to wear, I usually layer a light knit and pair it with cuffed pants. It’s an outfit that doesn’t force you to make up your mind, which matches the unpredictable and unreliable Vancouver weather. If the sun decides to make an extended appearance, I’ve can switch to the tank I’ve layered under my warm, yet breathable knit. If it gets a bit chilly, it’s time to uncuff the pants.
I discovered these gorgeous grey Club Monaco jeans at an independent thrift store in Nanaimo for just $7. The zipper was broken, but they fit too well to pass up. After a quick visit to my tailor, they are as good as new, and have quickly become one of my wardrobe staples.
