Neon is a key trend for Spring/Summer 2012, and like most runway fashion, can be adapted for daily wear.
Inspired by all the bright colours I’ve been spotting, I decided to work a splash of colour into my outfit, so I hit a local thrift store. Thrifting is the perfect way to try new trends because it will only cost a couple of dollars to try your new style on for size (no pun intended).
I found this Anne Klein pink silk shirt at the Salvation Army for $5. The dark grey dress shirt buttons are a business casual contrast to the bright hue. I paired it with a Dept Clothing skirt I found at a boutique in Ontario, and couldn’t help but throw in a dash of print with my Joe Fresh leopard print tights. My indigo blue vintage heels were also thrifted; I found them at Value Village in Vancouver for just $5. They feature a slightly pointed toe and although I had to replace the heel tips for $7, they are so unique that they were worth the $12 total investment.
